Abstract
This chapter offers an overview of Vietnam’s esports ecosystem, which has experienced notable growth in recent years. Rooted in the passion of the youth and the advancements in technology, esports has transformed into a thriving industry with promising prospects. The diverse and dynamic nature of the gaming stakeholders in Vietnam has made this country a good example to help readers partially understand the gaming panorama in Southeast Asia. As we look toward the future, the integration of new technologies, innovative business models, and strategic partnerships will be crucial in elevating esports in Vietnam to new heights of success and recognition. The author argues that while the esports industry in Vietnam enjoys a surge in popularity, it is not without its challenges for sustained growth and development. A prominent issue lies in the lack of a standardized and systemic approach to managing esports events and cultivating talents. Insufficient investments and infrastructure may also hinder the overall progression of the industry, potentially negating the country's competitive advantage on the global stage. Addressing these challenges will require concerted efforts from various stakeholders, including government support, private sector involvement, and grassroots engagement, to ensure that esports continues to thrive in Vietnam.
