Abstract

This chapter aims to outline crucial strategies for fostering professionalism among students through the application of appropriate teaching and assessment techniques. To accomplish this, we present a comprehensive action plan that includes six key initiatives. The first initiative involves establishing clear standards for learning outcomes to heighten awareness of these critical aspects. The second calls for the development of ethical principles and codes of conduct for both students and faculty, ensuring its alignment with the proposed interprofessional education and collaborative practice framework. The third initiative underscores the importance of mentorship programs for students, providing them with guidance and support throughout their learning journey. The fourth initiative is a call to action for faculty members, encouraging them to serve as exemplary role models for students. The fifth initiative proposes training for faculty members to enhance their ability to provide constructive feedback to students, critical for their continuous growth and improvement. Finally, the sixth initiative suggests the implementation of reflective practice methods, allowing students to learn from their experiences and apply insights to future situations. A summary of these initiatives concludes this chapter.
