Abstract

Companies had to rapidly implement new digital communication models in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Ibero-America, this was a challenge at the corporate level due to the virtual prevalence of traditional communication channels already established. This study answers the question: What is known about the communication strategies applied by organizations during COVID-19 in Ibero-America? A systematic literature review was carried out using the PRISMA method. Ten papers were selected from the EBSCO and Scopus databases. The information was analyzed and divided into six categories: Relationships of companies with their workers in the face of new measures, the corporate performance of organizations, communications department, management of governmental communication, reputation in times of COVID-19, and online governmental communication. In conclusion, the study shows processes and implementation of new virtual communication channels to adapt to the context within companies in crises, such as the one caused by the pandemic, and outlines a new model of corporate communication strategies yet to be explored and cemented in the face of new post-pandemic scenarios.
