Abstract

The sensorless control strategy of Brushless DC motor has been widely used in robotics, intelligent appliances, aerospace and other fields. In this paper, a variable reaching rate sliding mode observer is proposed to solve the chattering and low order harmonics in the estimation of the back EMF of the traditional sliding mode observer, which weakens the chattering problem of the sliding mode observer. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation and experiment.
