Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation method which is applied to an inverter for controlling asynchronous alternating current motors or three-phase induction motors through modeling simulations using Simulink MATLAB tools. Induction motors have complex rotational speed control characteristics. Its performance is influenced by several things, including the number of poles, and the frequency setting of the input voltage. To get a wide frequency setting, generally an inverter switch is use which is regulated by controlling the switch gate trigger pulse. This modeling is also used to determine the control pattern of the inverter switch trigger, the characteristics of the voltage curve, torque current, and speed of a three-phase induction motor. This study is also expected to help researchers in solving problems related to the Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation programming algorithm more concisely and easily because the inverter trigger pattern can be directly implemented into electronic control programming. The simulation results show that the induction motor can work on load changes with small torque ripples, stator, and rotor currents with small ripples and is followed by a linear rotational speed setting.
