Abstract

Continued advances in ECLS technology and increasing clinical experience with ECLS have resulted in improved patient outcomes over time. Nevertheless, ECLS is still associated with serious adverse events and complications, which have a significant impact on morbidity and mortality, although reduced in frequency, can limit treatment efficacy and safety.
