Abstract

According to China’s nuclear safety laws, it is a mandatory requirement for nuclear power plants (NPPs) to carry out PSR activities. Due to different design times, different laws and statutes, and different document systems etc. between phase I (Units 1 & 2) and phase II (Units 3 &4) in Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant(TNPP), it is necessary to make the effective safety benchmark of Multi-Reactor PSR which is a basis for smooth implementation of this PSR project. Therefore it is very important for the successful implementation and high-quality completion of the PSR. This paper introduces the definition, necessity, coverage, principles and strategies of the safety benchmark of VVER-1000 Multi-reactor nuclear power plant. Domestic and foreign laws and statutes, technical standards, construction specifications and standards, state of reactor Units’ life and other factors are mainly considered during the generation of safety benchmark strategy. As for current referential good practice, TNPP Units 7 &8 under construction with the same plant site and similar reactor type are selected as reference units, and also the experience feedback of major operational events of Phase I & II in TNPP are used for reference units simultaneously.
