Abstract
When a structure is loaded in compression incrementally, at a certain load level the configuration of the structure will start to alter considerably faster than before. This phenomenon is known as buckling. This chapter provides closed form solution and finite element results for Euler column with different end conditions. Further it provides solution for general variation in sectional and material properties. For brevity linear variation in them are considered and provided in examples.
There exists everywhere a medium in things, determined by equilibrium—Dmitri Mendeleev.
