Abstract

The rise of China is one of the most important historical developments of today. Once isolated and struggling for survival, the “Middle Kingdom” now is a global superpower. As such, it poses a great challenge for policymakers, as well as social science and policy researchers virtually in every corner of the globe. Increasing diplomatic and economic activity in Central, East and Southeast Europe, including Macedonia in the last few years China has the potential of becoming a significant regional actor and game changer.
