Abstract
An application for a research grant is made with lots of expectations and, many a time, in a desperate attempt to enable the investigator to pursue their research ideas by creating facilities and providing funding to carry forward advanced work in their field. Every grant call receives many applications, and the chances of being shortlisted for extramural funding are not easy. The present chapter enumerates specific basic rules to increase the chances of success.
