Abstract
In order to study the sliding characteristics of planetary roller screw mechanism (PRSM), thread surface equations are established based on the normal section profile of the screw and roller, the theoretical pitch diameter of the screw and position of contact point on roller-screw side are solved by Newton-Raphson iterative algorithm. Based on this research, the effects of different thread structural parameters on the theoretical pitch diameter of screw, position of contact point and sliding velocity are studied. The results show that offset of the contact point decreases with the increase of tooth half angle and the decrease of pitch. The relative sliding velocity is positively correlated with the offset of contact point position, the profile radius of the roller has little influence on the position of contact point and the relative sliding velocity.
