About the editors
Yoko Kijima is Vice-President and Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan. Before joining GRIPS, she was an associate professor at University of Tsukuba. Her research interests include rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia with a focus on agricultural development, poverty reduction, conflict and health, and public sector reform.
Tetsushi Sonobe is the Dean and CEO of the ADB Institute (ADBI), the Tokyo-based think tank of the Asian Development Bank. Previously he was Vice President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan. He is a development economist and holds a PhD in economics from Yale University.
