Abstract

Since the advent of liposuction in the early 1980s, this procedure has undergone tremendous advances making it one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures today. According to the statistics compiled by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, liposuction is one of the two most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the United States. In 2019, almost 300,000 liposuction procedures were performed. [1, 2]
