Abstract
Considering the stubbornly high morbidity and mortality and unsatisfactory clinical treatment efficacy of colorectal cancer (CRC), it is still urgent for exploring better therapy regimens. Various evidence have proved the important roles of gut microbiota in the development and treatment of CRC. Hence, the modulation of gut microbiota may be used as potential therapeutic approaches or adjuvants combined with other conventional treatments to prevent or treat CRC. Here, we summarize the diverse impacts of gut microbiota on different CRC therapeutic methods and discuss the potential clinical benefits of bacterial modulation with the goal of facilitating future research on the roles of the intestinal flora.
