Abstract

As the world's population continues to rise, food waste (FW) and accumulation are becoming a big concern all around the world. Food waste is growing at an exponential rate, posing serious threats to society in the form of health problems, pollution and a lack of disposal space. Adoption of appropriate steps to reduce the burden of food waste is critical. Typical management practises and diverse approaches to waste food processing and management are increasingly being investigated for social benefits and applications. Anaerobic digestion has proven to be a more environmentally friendly method of digestion. Ways to reduce food waste, increase energy output and increase nutrition production to help meet the world's growing energy need. This article has explored and investigated the numerous aspects of anaerobic biodegradation procedures for food. Waste, the effects of co-substrates, the effects of environmental variables, the contribution of microbial populations and numerous resources for food waste management research.
