Abstract

Vasculitides are a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by inflammation of vascular walls and varied prevalence, etio-pathogenetic mechanisms, inflammatory responses, clinical manifestations, and natural histories. TA is an example of large-vessel vasculitis (LVV) that typically occurs in women during their childbearing age, and hence, it is more common to observe pregnancy in patients with TA than in those with other vasculitic syndromes. More than 5% of pregnant women with TA develop calamitous cardiovascular complication, which was seen in a young pregnant woman with an undiagnosed diffuse TA.
