Abstract

In this paper, a design and analysis of wideband bandpass filter with compact size are proposed. Chebyshev and elliptic approximation model is considered for the filter design. The filter is designed, and the analysis is carried out by three, five and seven parallel coupled lines. The model can be used for GSM, WiMAX and WiFi applications for both licensed and unlicensed frequency bands. The filter is designed to give a high gain and less insertion loss, while operating in the bandwidth range of 2–5.2 GHz. The proposed filter is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a relative dielectric constant of 4.4 and 1.6 mm of substrate thickness and fed by two 50 Ω microstrip lines.
