Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become more popular in civilian, aviation, military, and business purposes as manufacturing techniques and communication technology have improved immensely. UAVs are prone to be misplaced, damaged, or forcibly abducted because they are used in tough environments and terrains. As UAV technology becomes more widely used, challenges such as intra-UAV communications, UAV privacy, information security, data management, and others must be solved within UAV networks. Furthermore, traditional networks may not be capable of managing the evolving needs of UAVs. In this article, we discussed how blockchain might be used in UAV networks for issues like network security, decentralized storage, data management, and monitoring, as well as some broader perspectives. Finally, we found some research gaps and issues that need to be addressed when merging blockchain and UAVs, as well as potential future research prospects.
