Abstract
In this paper, a method of traffic flow detection based on computer vision and image processing is proposed. By analyzing the vehicle and scene information in the image acquired by CCD TV camera, the traffic parameters can be detected effectively. This method can complete the vehicle counting and vehicle speed detection of two-way four lane Expressway and urban road. The experimental results show that the accuracy of vehicle counting is 94%. The accuracy of vehicle speed detection is 92%, and it has satisfactory real-time characteristics.
