Abstract
Encouraging innovation and avoiding restrictive regulations on research and development (R&D) that impede technological and economic development is a part of China’s evolving informatization strategies. This paper creates “the innovation chain theory with R&D investment as the core” model which is verified by the Structural Equation Modeling. Additionally, the influencing factors increasing R&D investment for technology-intensive private enterprises are discovered, and related suggestions are provided to enterprises and the government. Theoretically, this research has contributed to the micro perspective of the innovation chain theory. Practically, it can improve the independent innovation and technological capabilities of technology-intensive private enterprises.
