Abstract
The small bowel is a challenging organ for both clinicians and radiologists because of the rarity of small-bowel diseases, less availability of endoscopy for the evaluation of this organ, and low diagnostic yield of conventional barium studies. By virtue of technical advancement, cross-sectional imaging such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging becomes a first-line imaging for various small-bowel diseases. Therefore, this chapter will discuss the indications, advantages, and disadvantages of several radiologic modalities that can be used for small-bowel diseases, focusing on CT and MR enterography.
