Abstract

Through this study, the authors wish to understand the importance given to and the level of ethical training in the Information Technology (IT) industry in India. This is important as specific training for ethical belief and action is necessary at all levels of employees in all industries so that they may make the right decisions when in a dilemma and to benefit all involved persons not just one or a few. The authors recognize the heterogeneous nature of the industry studying the same in detail before going on to understanding ethical training as per the employees and then as per the companies. This study is taken up to understand how much focus is given to the same. This study understands these questions through interviews with employees at various levels in the various branches of the IT industry. As the study is qualitative and not quantitative focus was laid on subjective understanding of the respondents and analysis of the same. The result from this analysis is being discussed in detail in the study.
