Abstract

This document presents a study of PWM methods of modulation in high frequency in current source inverter (CSI) in the motor drive for electric traction systems in order of evaluated total harmonic distortion (THD) and efficiency. The modulations used for the analysis are the phase-shifted carrier (SPWM), online PWM technique, and trapezoidal PWM technique (TPWM). For the use of silicon carbide device (SiC) in CSI topology is necessary to work with techniques of modulation a higher frequency to increase the commutation. The analysis proposed includes the study and comparison of techniques proposed to different frequencies of operation, the testing and simulations are analyzed using MATLAB software. Power losses and total harmonic distortion (THD) are evaluated and compared.
