Abstract

Early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is important since small HCC multiple minimal invasive treatments are available, including curative resection, liver transplantation, or radiofrequency ablation. Depends on its unique Kupffer phase, Sonazoid-enhanced CEUS might be helpful in early diagnosis and precise diagnosis of small HCCs as liver metastasis. As an emerging technology, machine learning algorithms and radiomics approaches are promising in predicting microvascular invasion or tumor recurrence. Recent advancements in ultrasound system and transducer hardware have enabled several novel CEUS approaches, which provide improved spatial and temporal resolution imaging. Ultrasound microbubbles can be used to circumvent drug delivery barriers to tumors through several possible mechanisms.
