Abstract

When it comes to treating the waste in an effective way and gaining profit from it, which has environmental advantages, closed loop supply chain plays a vital role. Closed loop supply chain is basically formed when a basic forward logistics is connected with a reverse supply chain in order to reclaim that product back from start point. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to arrange a reverse supply chain network in order to recover various kinds of plastic and make a model which satisfies circular economy. A reverse supply chain is design by analysing the literature survey which focuses on used plastic collection from consumer at the collection centre and after sorting, these plastics are provided to their respective supplier for further application. The proposed network throws light on the systematic way of reusing and recycling plastic products. Model indicates that the plastic generated can be reclaimed again by suppliers in order to increase the profitability and reduce plastic reprocessing emissions, and usage of new raw plastic. Constructs are identified between the hypothesis of the literature survey done and legislations a network is formulated in order to systematically direct different types of reclaimed plastic for its further operations. The future research will take in new constraints and empirically test the equations and constraints for optimizing the flow for further iterations.
