Abstract
The upper limb is mostly innervated by the nerves that originate from the brachial plexus. Though brachial plexus block has been practiced with landmark-based and peripheral nerve stimulator (PNS) based approaches for almost a century now, the use of ultrasound has increased the success rate and reduced the complications. The use of ultrasound has also ushered in new techniques of brachial plexus block such as the costoclavicular block. In this chapter, we have described approaches of ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block. We have also described the median, radial and ulnar nerve blocks at the elbow and wrist region and other supplementary nerve blocks that can be helpful for conducting an upper limb surgery.
