Evolution of Intramedullary Nails in Long Bones of the Upper Limb

Abstract

Nailing in fractures of the upper limb has evolved a long way, but has not paralleled the impact it has made in fractures of the lower limb. This chapter describes the evolution of the nails that are used to treat fractures in upper limb bones and systematically describes the pros and cons of each device.
