Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has been devastatingly taking tolls on almost every aspect of human life across the globe. Although a good number of studies have been coming out, some of the characteristics of the novel coronavirus are yet unknown. Early diagnosis and virus containment are the vital steps to treat, control, and prevent the diseases. However, the majority of the infected patients may be asymptomatic while they are spreading the infection. Therefore, at the community level, primary prevention is fundamentally challenging. A diagnostic test that is easily available, widely acceptable, incurring a low cost, and giving quick response could be an ideal one. Nevertheless, the identification of asymptomatic carriers is the core challenge to prevent spreading. Different countries have been experimenting with different prospecting diagnostic tools where technology has been playing a crucial role. This chapter discusses the prospective technological prospects for the detection, prevention, and control of COVID-19.
