Abstract
China’s dream of becoming a global leader and transforming the global governance system involves the three pillars of becoming an economic superpower, becoming a military superpower, and becoming a scientific and technological superpower. This article focuses on exploring China’s strategy of promoting scientific and technological innovation embodied in the documents of the 19th Congress of the CPC as part of its desire to gain global leadership and advantages. The article examines in detail China’s ambition, the relationship between this ambition and the need to promote innovation and the nature of China’s innovation strategy. It concludes with an evaluation of the implementation of the strategy so far.
