Abstract

Due to the great loss caused by passenger ships’ maritime accidents, the evacuation of passenger ships has received more and more attention. IMO has introduced a series of guidelines for comprehensive evacuation analysis and certification of large passenger ships during the design phase. In this paper, the personnel evacuation simulation tool Pathfinder based on the technology of Agent is used to establish the passenger ship evacuation model, and the real ship exercise data in the European “SEAFGUARD” project is used for simulation verification. The experimental results show that the model established in this paper can pass the 12 IMO tests about passenger ship evacuation simulation, meet the certification standard of the “SEAFGUARD” project, and can provide certain decision support for passenger ship safety evacuation simulation and passenger ship evacuation plan optimization.
