Abstract
In head and neck cancers brachytherapy can be used either as definitive modality in early cancers or as boost in patients with larger tumors. Brachytherapy delivers higher biologically equivalent compared to EBRT, but disadvantages are its inability to treat nodes and invasive procedure. Proper patient selection is the key to any successful head and neck brachytherapy protocol. The chapter describes indications, contraindications, pretreatment evaluation, procedure, target delineation, and plan evaluation in head and neck brachytherapy.
