Abstract

With the rapid development of the Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) television, the SDI technology for video transmission in traditional broadcast and TV production is in awkward circumstances. In the meantime, for the sake of flexibility, scalability and versatility, it is an excellent choice to transmit the IP-encapsulated video with SMPTE ST 2022-6 or SMPTE ST 2110 protocol in professional media facility. For the IP-encapsulated uncompressed video, we implement a system for capture and playback in real time, and measure the system performance with the end-to-end delay and packet loss rate during the process. It implements a system from video signal capture to processing and playback, and implements decoding and playback of IP video signals with software, which has strong reproducibility and high flexibility.
