Abstract
This report defines green development as a new development model that is conducive to resource conservation and environment protection and established under the constraint conditions of resources and environmental carrying capacity. This chapter introduces the origination, definition, and features of green development as well as the practice and stories of typical countries and international organizations in their green transition. It also gives a systematic overview to the international and China-ASEAN evaluating indicator system for green development and introduces the overall structure of this report.
