Abstract
E-governance projects in India continue to face challenges particularly when it is attempted to roll out successfully completed pilots. The practitioners generally prefer to showcase only the achievements and ignore the need for sharing project experiences for better planning and effective implementation of new projects. As a result, insights based on cross-case analysis of projects from the perspective of key stakeholders are generally found lacking in literature. In the final chapter 10, a way forward for effective e-governance is presented in the form of strategic recommendations based on insights developed through in-depth strategic analysis of projects and practical experience of e-governance projects. The synthesized strategic framework presented in Chap. 3 has been kept into view while bringing out these empirically founded recommendations from the perspectives of planners, implementers and beneficiaries. It is expected that these recommendations based on cross-case analysis of projects in India shall be useful for effective implementation of the ongoing projects and better planning and implementation of future projects not only in India but also in other developing countries.
