Abstract
Based on archival research and qualitative explorations, I describe one example of economic development and its direct and indirect relationship to determinations of citizenship in a southern Pueblo in the state of New Mexico. I aim to discuss how increasing tensions around ideas of belonging have emerged, potentially creating lasting impacts on community members whose identities appear in flux.
