Abstract
In this chapter, we investigate why and how teacher advisor (TA) programs were developed in the BEP schools, including challenges in using these programs to build strong relationships between teachers and students. We claim that an effective TA program will provide learning experiences and changed relationships that improve student autonomy, or the ability for students to make their own informed decisions in living and learning contexts.
