Abstract

A career in the ethics of health policy is not necessarily a straight line. Starting from an academic interest in medical ethics, and without any concerns specifically about policy, I have gradually expanded my horizons to include a number of policy questions. I’ll recount here what led me to shift my interests into a policy direction, what immediate lessons I took away from that experience, and finally, what longer-term questions seem to remain.
