Samenvatting

Bij patiënten die zich presenteren met hevige buikpijn is het meestal mogelijk om aan de hand van symptomen en bevindingen op vrij eenvoudige wijze een diagnose te stellen. Immers, bij onderzoek van een patiënte met acute buikpijn verschaft het traditionele klinische onderzoek het grootste deel van de informatie die nodig is om tot een correcte diagnose te komen. Eigenlijk dient aanvullend onderzoek slechts om meer zekerheid te krijgen over de eerder gestelde diagnose.
