Abstract

Since late 1980s, the implantation of intraocular lenses became the standard of care. In routine cases, the IOL is implanted in the bag with overlapping capsulorhexis margin to ensure good centration and reduce the rate of secondary cataract. For difficult cases with insufficient or no capsular support over the years, different IOL designs and fixation techniques have been developed [1–21].
