Abstract

Intraarticular hip injection is useful therapeutically for the treatment of hip joint pain, and diagnostic purpose help differential diagnosis of coxarthrosis from lower extremity neuropathy when considering surgical treatment. This chapter describes anatomy and the safe techniques of fluoroscopic and ultrasoundguided hip joint injection avoiding puncture of the femoral nerve and the medial femoral circumflex artery possibly resulting in necrosis of the femoral head.
