Zusammenfassung
Die beiden Begriffe «Tracheotomie» und «Tracheostomie» werden häufig synonym gebraucht. Streng genommen bezeichnet die «Tracheotomie» die alleinige Eröffnung der Luftröhre und die «Tracheostomie» die Anlage einer permanenten epithelisierten Luftröhrenöffnung durch Verbindung der Trachea mit der Halshaut. Das Ergebnis beider Verfahren ist das Tracheostoma.
