Zusammenfassung
Bei einem von drei Patienten, die sich mit Bauchschmerzen in einer Notfallaufnahme präsentieren, liegt die Ursache der Bauchschmerzen außerhalb des Gastrointestinaltrakts. Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Erkrankungen extraabdomineller Organe oder systemische Erkrankungen, welche sich mit Symptomen manifestieren, die an chirurgisch behandelbare abdominelle Erkrankungen denken lassen, in Wirklichkeit aber keines chirurgischen Eingriffs bedürfen, oder bei denen ein chirurgischer Eingriff sogar kontraindiziert ist. Viele dieser Erkrankungen werden durch diagnostische Routinemaßnahmen in Notfallambulanzen rechtzeitig erkannt, obwohl einige Ursachen von Bauchschmerzen auch heute noch sehr häufig übersehen oder nicht diagnostiziert werden.
