Abstract

With imaging methods, the position, shape and size of the kidneys, bladder and prostate can be be assessed and also the presence or absence of a bladder outlet obstruction non-invasively detected. When imaging the kidneys, the adjacent retroperitoneum can also be examined. In principle, all questions in patients with benign prostatic syndrome (BPS) can be answered with ultrasound.
