Zusammenfassung

In Kap. 11 werden ausgewählte Aspekte der Geburtsbegleitung behandelt. Zu Beginn werden die folgenden Themen allgemein betrachtet: respektvolle Geburtshilfe, das Partogramm zur schnellen Entdeckung eines Geburtsstillstands, die intermittierende Auskultation der kindlichen Herztöne, die WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist und das geburtshilfliche Personal. Danach werden konkrete Erfahrungen und Umsetzungen der oben genannten Themen am Beispiel von Uganda und Gambia aufgegriffen, bevor abschließend die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Hebammen, Ärzten und Dorfhebammen beleuchtet wird.
