Zusammenfassung

Mittels einer intrauterinen Insemination (IUI) kann man eine aufbereitete, schnellere Spermienpopulation in die Gebärmutterhöhle injizieren und damit deren Ankunft an der Ampulla tubae erleichtern.

Diese Technik setzt die Durchgängigkeit der Tuben voraus. Andere Faktoren wie das Alter der Patientin, ihre ovarielle Reserve und die Dauer des Kinderwunsches sind ebenfalls sehr wichtig.

Insgesamt kann durch die IUI lediglich eine geringe Steigerung der Schwangerschaftsrate im Vergleich zum Spontanzyklus erreicht werden. Damit ist es ein deutlich weniger effektives Verfahren als eine IVF oder eine ICSI. Die Akzeptanz bei den betroffenen Paaren ist aber hoch, da dieses Verfahren als deutlich weniger invasiv wahrgenommen wird.
