Zusammenfassung

Trotz zunehmender Etablierung minimal-invasiver Behandlungsmethoden ist die Transurethrale Resektion der Prostata (TUR-P) nach einer Erhebung der Allgemeinen Ortskrankenkasse (AOK) mit einem Anteil von knapp 80 % an allen BPH-Operationen in Deutschland nach wie vor das am häufigsten angewandte Verfahren (Gilfrich et al. 2016). Dieses Ergebnis spiegelt die Empfehlungen der Europäischen Gesellschaft für Urologie (EAU) wider: Die monopolare TUR-P (M-TUR-P) stellt die operative Standardtherapie für Männer mit Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) aufgrund des benignen Prostatasyndroms (BPS) und einem Prostatavolumen (PV) zwischen 30 und 80 ml dar (Gravas et al. 2016, 2020). Die Effektivität der M-TUR-P hinsichtlich der Verbesserung der LUTS wurden in zahlreichen Studien nachgewiesen: Die M-TUR-P stellt das einzige endoskopisch-chirurgische Verfahren mit einem Langzeit Follow-up > 20 Jahre dar (Reich et al. 2006).
