Zusammenfassung

Anatomie und Funktion der unteren Extremität im Ganzen und des Fußes im Speziellen sind eng mit der bipedalen Fortbewegung verknüpft und resultieren in einer komplexen biomechanischen Interaktion der verschiedenen Bänder, Sehnen und Knochen. Die traumatischen Verletzungsmuster sind hierbei vielschichtig und teils subtil, was mit einer hohen Rate initial übersehener Verletzungen einhergeht. Gleichzeitig prädisponieren diese durch die hohe mechanische Belastung zu einer sekundären Arthrose und zu Langzeitschäden. Das Kapitel gibt eine Übersicht über die häufigsten und wichtigsten Verletzungen und gebräuchlichsten Klassifikationen, um die Kommunikation zwischen Radiologen und Traumatologen zu vereinfachen und eine schnellstmögliche und stadiengerechte Therapie zu ermöglichen.
