Zusammenfassung
Phäochromozytome und Paragangliome sind Neubildungen aus chromaffinen Zellen der sympathischen Paraganglien bzw. dem Nebennierenmark mit malignem Potenzial. Die Klinik und Symptomatik wird durch die Sekretion von Katecholaminen bestimmt. Durch eine komplette Entfernung des Tumors ist eine Heilung und dauerhafte Kontrolle der Hormonsituation möglich. Allerdings besteht beim malignen Phäochromozytom und/oder bei intraoperativem „cell seeding“ bzw. inkompletter Resektion die Gefahr des Rezidivs. Als wichtige Voraussetzung für die operative Therapie sollte in der Regel eine präoperative Blockade der α-Rezeptoren erfolgen, um eine intraoperative hypertensive Krise und einen hypovolämischen Schock nach Resektion des Tumors zu vermeiden.
