Zusammenfassung
Die ersten phaken IOL wurden bereits 1953 von Strampelli in die Vorderkammer implantiert. Seitdem wurden zahlreiche inkrementelle Verbesserungen und verschiedene Modelle vorgestellt, die zu einer Verbesserung der Verträglichkeit und der Operationssicherheit beigetragen haben. In diesem Kapitel wird eine Übersicht über die gegenwärtig verfügbaren Typen von phaken IOL gegeben und deren Implantation Schritt für Schritt erläutert. Sowohl moderne phake Hinterkammerlinsen als auch irisfixierte Vorderkammerlinsen ermöglichen heute eine sichere und effektive Korrektur gerade hoher Fehlsichtigkeiten. Dies ist besonders hilfreich, wenn eine Laseranwendung an der Hornhaut, z. B. bei Keratokonus, kontraindiziert ist. Die Implantation, aber auch die Explantation sind chirurgisch anspruchsvoll.
