Zusammenfassung
Die soziale Angststörung, auch soziale Phobie genannt, ist gekennzeichnet durch die irrationale Furcht von anderen negativ bewertet zu werden. Diese Angst kann sowohl in Leistungs- als auch Interaktionssituationen auftreten und führt zu erheblichem Leidensdruck. Die soziale Angststörung beginnt häufig im Jugend- und jungen Erwachsenenalter und zeigt oft einen fluktuierenden Verlauf. Sie kann mit kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutischen Methoden gut behandelt werden. Zentrale Elemente sind dabei Identifikation und Abbau sog. Sicherheitsverhaltensweisen, Verhaltensexperimente sowie kognitive Techniken.
